The New Required Airborne Infectious Disease Plan

NY State has enacted the Health and Essential Rights Act, also known as the H.E.R.O Act which requires that when a state of emergency has been declared due to an airborne infectious disease, that all New York businesses must have an Airborne Infectious Diseases Plan and implement a “safety committee” as may be needed.

It is mandatory that Companies follow any applicable laws, rules, standards, or guidance on notification to employees and relevant state and local agencies of potential exposure to airborne infectious disease at the work site. The deadline to have your company’s plan in effect is August 5th.

Our HR department has provided us with our plan. Each company must have one.
